The Sensitivity of Vegetation Dynamics to Climate Change across the Tibetan Plateau

Vegetation dynamics are key processes which present the ecology system’s response to climate change. However, vegetation sensitivity change remains controversial. This study redefined precipitation (VSP) and temperature (VST) by coefficient of determination (R2) obtained a linear regression analysis between normalized difference index (NDVI), as well using an variance explore significant differences them in different seasons from 1982 2013, exploring general changed rules VSP/VST on timescale. Moreover, variations VSP VST across Tibetan Plateau were plotted analysis. Finally, we used structural equation modeling (SEM) verify hypothesis that respondence NDVI was regulated hydrothermal conditions. Our results showed that: (1) annual increased both spring winter (R2 = 0.32, p < 0.001; R2 0.25, 0.001, respectively), while decreased summer 0.21, 0.001); (2) threshold conditions seasonal captured 4–12 mm range (monthly precipitation) at 0 °C average temperature), respectively; (3) SEM demonstrated has direct effects only (path −0.554, 0.478, −0.428, respectively). In summary, our findings highlighted under these would lead variation temperature.
